Epcot International Flower and Garden Festival

It's the oldest of Epcot's Festivals and it set the tone for other theme park festivals (in this blogger's opinion!).

Welcome to the greatest Flower and Garden Show on earth!

Why should you tiptoe through the tulips at Epcot? Here are some reasons why:


1. What are topiaries: Shrubs in the shape of Disney characters, placed all over Epcot. Grown and shaped by Disney gardeners and landscapers, they add great decor to the festival ambience.

2. Extra kiosks: In addition to the 11 permanent pavilions in the World Showcase, extra booths, kiosks and carts are throughout the park with added treats and garden merchandise. Booths that are normally there add in festival related items to get in the spring spirit.

3. Little gardens: Learn how, what and where to plant foliage to create great gardens.

4. The Garden Rocks: Take a break from the mile walk around the World Showcase and enjoy some entertainment in the American Gardens. Check the passport guide book for performers, dates and times.

5. You can participate: Check out the website or passport book to see if any classes, workshops and demonstrations are being offered. Visit the Butterfly Garden. Also, kids ages 2-100 enjoy the scavenger hunts and collecting projects from the Kidcot post in each pavilion.  Some amenities might cost extra.

There's counter (quick) service, casual dining, fine/signature dining, and even a few rooftop experiences.  The New Morocco at Epcot The Morocco Pavilion at Epcot, Disney World The Morocco Pavilion opened in 1984, two years after Epcot opened up in 1982. The Moroccan government took art in the design of the area, resulting in a very realistic representation of Marakesh and other cities of Morocco. There is a souk (bazaar), three eateries, a revolving exhibit and a representation of a house in Fes. Marrakesh's presence is strong with the replica of the Koutoubia mosque. Big changes are coming to the Morocco Pavilion in Epcot. First of all, the ownership of the area is now in Disney's hands. Morocco will continue to provide cultural consultation. As avid Epcot fans know, not all of the pavilions offer the passholders or Disney Vacation Club discount. Now, hopefully, it will be available here as well.
